The Law Firm FORTON Legal Łatała i Wspólnicy Partner of the 2nd Congress of Family Enterprises Business Succession

On 23-24 May 2024, the 2nd edition of the Family Business Succession Congress took place. The aim of the Congress was to discuss the current status and development prospects of family businesses, with particular emphasis on the key challenges of succession planning. The FORTON Legal Law Firm acted as a Partner of the event.

On the first day of the Congress, Managing Partner of FORTON Legal, Wiesław Łatała, took part in the debate “Corporate governance and family governance – a company in a family or a family in a company?”, while on the second day,  Aleksandra Łatała-Kremer PhD gave a presentation to the conference participants on “The use of the Business Judgement Rule as an element of guaranteeing the safety of a family company handed over for management to external managers”.

The thematic scope of the Congress included practical issues not only concerning succession management in family businesses, but also broader issues related to the development and operation of these enterprises. The event was aimed at the environment of family entrepreneurs, owners of family businesses and their successors, representatives of entrepreneurial organisations, representatives of local authorities, lawyers and scientists interested in succession in family businesses. During the Congress, a meeting of the Malopolska Business Succession and Transfer Council at the Marshal’s Office of the Malopolska Region was also held.
